Great offer! If you are an international high school student, you could be eligible for scholarships to help pay for the cost of your undergraduate education at Clark University!

When you send in your admissions application, you will be automatically considered for several merit scholarships. The Presidential Scholarship requires a separate application; however, the rest of the merit scholarships do not.

Your eligibility for scholarships depends on your academic achievement (those indicated on your application for admission), not on your family need. However, international students who may qualify for scholarships are still expected to demonstrate the ability to cover a significant percentage of the cost of their education. This includes students who wish to be considered for the Presidential Scholarship. On average, international students at Clark pay $40,000 per year.

If you are awarded a merit scholarship, you will be notified when you receive your admissions decision.

Below are the merit scholarships offered to entering first-year international students at Clark University. The scholarship amounts and descriptions below will be in effect for students starting in Fall 2023.

Richard Traina Scholarship at 2023 Clark University

Awarded to incoming students who have shown a tireless commitment to leadership, scholarship, and community. One of Clark’s top-level scholarships and honors, the Traina Scholarship is named after the late Richard P. Traina, the former University President who saw a better world was possible through listening, learning, and connecting.

Eligible students will receive a $112,000 four-year award ($28,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial needs.

Robert Goddard Scholarship

Awarded to incoming students who have demonstrated strong academic potential to achieve in and out of the classroom on projects of meaning. Named after Robert H. Goddard—Clark graduate and faculty member and the founder of modern rocketry—whose bold approach to learning envisioned and anticipated a world that did not yet exist.

Eligible students will receive a $104,000 four-year award ($26,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial needs.

Jonas Clark Scholarship

Awarded to incoming students who have shown potential to challenge convention and change the world. Named after our founder, Jonas Clark, who aspired to champion an educational model that would create freethinking and bold students and citizens of the world.

Eligible students will receive a $21,000 four-year award ($84,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial needs.

Scarlet Award Scholarship

Awarded to incoming students who have demonstrated remarkable devotion to their academics or community endeavors. Named for Clark’s school color, Scarlet — a bold color traditionally associated with courage and passion.

Eligible students will receive a $64,000 four-year award ($16,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial need.

2023 Clark University Merit Scholarship

Awarded to incoming students who show promise in creativity, research and the life of the mind. Named for the year Jonas Clark founded Clark University as one of the first all-graduate institutions in the United States, with special interest in research in the field of psychology.

Eligible students will receive a $52,000 four-year award ($13,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial needs.

Presidential Scholarships

  • Awarded to approximately five students each year, the Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious award for students whose academic record and leadership potential places them at the very top of Clark’s applicant pool.
  • Full tuition, on-campus room and board for all four years, regardless of a family’s financial need.
  • Requires two additional scholarship essays due Feb. 1 for all applicants. Regular Decision applicants have until Feb. 1. EA/ED applicants who submit scholarship applications after Dec. 1 but before Feb. 1 will receive notification of their scholarship status in March.

Hurray! Are you actively looking for a study grant in the USA? Emory University is dedicated to bringing in a talented first-year class from all over the world. Each year, they provide a select group of international students with need-based financial aid awards.

To be successfully considered for need-based financial aid, please apply under our Regular Decision plan. Interested international students also may apply for merit-based scholarships through the Emory University Scholar programs.

International students with financial difficulties can be considered during Emory’s admissions process. This means that non-citizen and non-permanent resident applicants will have their requests for financial aid and/or their ability to afford an Emory education taken into account when evaluating their applications.

As a result, there are limited funds to assist international students based on need. If you don’t have any other way to pay for college, then financial aid is something you should look into.

About Emory University

Emory University offers partial to full merit-based scholarships as part of the Emory University Scholar Programs. Scholar programs are more than just merit scholarships. They empower students through resources and support to reach their full potential and make an impact on the university, Atlanta, and the world beyond.

Method of Application for Emory University International Scholarship Grants

  1. BY JANUARY 1 Submit the Documentation of Finances or the College Board certification of finances form, in addition to a note or statement from your bank or financial institution as proof of funding. International applicants applying for financial aid do not need to show they have sufficient funds to fully cover their first year at Emory. However, please complete the Documentation of Finances as accurately as possible, noting how much your family is able to contribute to your education, from $0 per year up to the cost of attendance.
  2. BY FEBRUARY 15 Submit the CSS Profile.
  3. BY FEBRUARY 15 Submit a tax return filed in your home country (or a non-tax-filer statement if a tax return is not required) through the College Board’s Institutional Documents (IDOC) Service.

Selection Process

The selection for merit-based scholar programs is administered by the Office of Admission in partnership with esteemed faculty.

Roughly 8,000-10,000 students apply to be Scholars each year. Out of that, 175–200 students are selected as Scholar Finalists. Finalists are required to attend an on-campus Scholars Finalists Visit held in the spring. Finalists are brought to campus at no expense to the student.

Taking place over several days, the visit includes activities and interviews designed to help finalists become better acquainted with Emory University and the distinct opportunities available for them here.

Applicants who are not selected as finalists for a program are still fully reviewed for admission under their selected application plan and will also automatically be considered for other smaller merit-based scholarships.

The Scholar selection process is completely separate from the financial aid process. When a student is eligible for both merit scholarships and financial aid, merit scholarships are awarded first. Students who applied for financial aid may also be eligible for need-based grants and loans if there is a remaining need beyond the merit scholarship award.

To be considered for Emory University International Scholarship Grants

  • Select “Yes” to the question on the Common Application about applying for need-based financial aid.
  • Complete the Documentation of Finances forms as accurately as possible.
  • You must apply for financial aid and submit the Documentation of Finances during the admission process if you think you’ll need financial assistance at any time during your education.
  • Plan to contribute financially to your education (for example, paying for your travel to and from home); Emory cannot assume responsibility for fluctuations in currencies or replace lost financial support from relatives, sponsors, government and corporate agencies, or other sources.

What exciting news! Do you know that Dartmouth College provides numerous financial aid opportunities to international students? This aid can take the form of either a scholarship or a loan, and it may cover expenses like flights and accommodation to the United States.

Dartmouth’s “need-blind” admissions policy, which was first only for American students, will now be used for all international students starting with the Class of 2026.

Dartmouth provides need-based grants and scholarships to all outstanding international students. To ensure that you and your family can take advantage of this incredible education, the organization will work tirelessly to keep costs down. You may qualify for a wide variety of different forms of assistance.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE AT DARTMOUTH COLLEGE

DARTMOUTH NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Dartmouth Scholarships are need-based and are given without the expectation of repayment. Amounts may range from $1,000 to over $70,000, depending on your expected family contribution. You will automatically be considered for these funds when you apply for aid.

DARTMOUTH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS

Numerous students from Dartmouth college will be paired to one or more of our over 950 endowed scholarship funds. These scholarships do not constitute new financial assistance but rather designate that existing grants will be funded by a particular endowment. There is no need for a separate application for any opportunity, but all aid beneficiaries are asked to fill out a survey to help with these pairings. If a student doesn’t want to actively engage, they can choose to opt-out.

Oftentimes, the students who receive these scholarships are required to thank the donor each year and respond to a few additional questions about their time at Dartmouth. Many people get to meet their donors, which can open up fantastic networking possibilities. Donors can better understand the tangible effect of their gifts on Dartmouth’s financial aid program and student body when they have a personal connection to one or more individual students.

OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS

Scholarships offered by organisations outside of your school (for any reason, such as academic, civic, or athletic excellence) can be a great help in covering the high cost of higher education.

You can use these funds to replace or reduce the employment and loan portions of your award at Dartmouth. Your Student Contribution may be reduced or eliminated entirely by outside scholarships if your award specifies a leave-term earnings expectation. If a student’s expected family contribution (EFC) at Dartmouth is higher than their expected family contribution (EFC) as calculated by the FAFSA, then the student may use outside aid to bring their EFC at Dartmouth down to the federal level. Although it is extremely unusual, there are situations in which a student’s outside resources are so substantial that Dartmouth must reduce the amount of their scholarship award to bring it in line with federal and institutional awarding guidelines.

VETERANS’ SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS

Dartmouth College regards veterans’ benefits as outside scholarships that you have earned and will be used to lower the cost of study at the institution See the Veterans section for more information.

FEDERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

For U.S. citizens or permanent residents, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form required to apply for Federal Financial Aid.

The federal government provides Pell Grants to students who qualify on the basis of financial need as determined by their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are awarded by the College to the most needy students. They vary in amount but do not exceed $4,000 a year.

STATE GRANT PROGRAMS

Dartmouth College accepts need-based grants from a number of different states. Your Dartmouth scholarship will be reduced by the same amount that you receive in state grants. However, state grants are not deducted from your total grant eligibility until they are received from the state. Contact the Financial Aid Office for the most recent information about your state’s grant program.

ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS

ROTC Scholarships are offered to outstanding students on a competitive basis. Additional information about the Dartmouth College ROTC program is available on the Army Scholarships page.

Studying in the United States can be a dream come true for many international students, but the cost of education can be a significant barrier. Thankfully, there are various scholarships and financial aid opportunities available to help international students pursue their academic ambitions in the USA. These scholarships are offered by universities, government organizations, private institutions, and foundations, aiming to promote diversity and support outstanding students from all around the world. Here are some popular scholarships for international students in the USA:

Here is a comprehensive list of scholarships for international students in USA.

Scholarships For International Students In USA:

The Fulbright program is one of the most prestigious scholarship opportunities for international students. It offers fully-funded scholarships for graduate-level study, research, and teaching assistantships in the USA. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and promotes mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the USA and other countries.

Administered by the U.S. Department of State, the Humphrey Fellowship Program provides scholarships for mid-career professionals from developing countries. The program includes one year of non-degree graduate study, leadership development, and professional enrichment in a specific field at participating U.S. universities.

List of U.S. Colleges and Universities with Financial Aid for International Students

American University is among universities in US that offer full scholarships to international students.

American University (AU) offers a limited number of generous partial scholarships and grants to students from outside the United States who want to attend its undergraduate program. This is done to attract the most qualified international students. International students can’t apply for or receive need-based scholarships or grants. The annual value of the merit scholarship can be anywhere from $6,000 to $25,000. (renewable subject to conditions).

Also, the Emerging Global Leader Scholarship Program at American University provides support for outstanding international students committed to making a difference in the world to earn a bachelor’s degree at American University. This is geared toward those who, upon graduation, will work to better the lives of people in impoverished or otherwise underserved areas of their home country.

The current financial aid programme at Amherst College is a need-based programme that helps out international students who are struggling financially. Once accepted, your financial need will be evaluated. Then, you will receive a financial aid package proportional to your demonstrated financial need. Since it is possible for the award to consist of both self-help (employment) and gift aid, the term “aid package” is sometimes used to describe the total amount received (scholarship opportunities and grants).

The first year of study at Berea College is fully funded for every international student who enrols there. The total cost of tuition, housing, and meals is reduced by the aid and scholarships received. The expectation is that international students will set aside $1,000 (US) per year to help cover their costs of attendance in subsequent years. To help international students fulfil this requirement, the University does offer summer employment opportunities.

The Clark Global Scholars Program is available to first-year applicants (not transfer students) who have spent at least four years in an international educational institution, as well as international citizens enrolled in a university in the United States. It consists of a guaranteed $2,500 taxable stipend for an internship or research assistantship taken for academic credit during the summer after your sophomore or junior year, and a yearly scholarship of $15,000 to $25,000 (for four years, contingent upon meeting academic standards for renewal).

Colby-Sawyer College offers merit-based scholarships to international students. The scholarship grants range from $15,000 to $28,000 per year, with the higher amount being given to those who show the highest levels of academic achievement (as determined by GPA). Financial assistance at the university falls short of what is expected.

To encourage and reward exceptional international students, Columbia College provides a variety of scholarships and awards. The grants are either one-time cash payments or reductions in tuition of 15%-100%.

Concordia University takes delight in the contributions of its international students and is happy to offer some financial assistance to them. The International Student Scholarship offers up to $28,000 per year in financial aid to students from around the world based on demonstrated academic merit and demonstrated financial need. International students who are entering college for the first time or who are transfer students may be eligible for a four-year, up to $28,000 scholarship called an International Excellence Scholarship.

All admitted undergraduates, including those from other countries, are provided for, regardless of financial status. International students can apply for financial aid to study at Dartmouth College, which includes a travel stipend.

International students enrolling in either the graduate or undergraduate programs at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) are eligible for the International Students Academic Merit Scholarship. Undergraduate recipients will receive an annual value of $12,500 and graduate recipients will receive an annual value of $11,500.

Students from Asia, the Pacific, and the United States who are enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program at the University of Hawaii can apply for the East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship. This fellowship pays for up to 24 months of graduate study at the Center’s residential, educational, and leadership development programs.

Each year, Emory College provides need-based scholarships to a selected number of international students. In addition, the Emory University Scholars Program offers full and partial merit-based scholarships to qualified international students (November 15 deadline).

International students who satisfy the entrance requirements and have impressive academic records and test scores are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships. These grants can be renewed for a total of four years at a time and provide between $16,000 and $30,000. Further, each year, two qualified international students may receive President’s International Student Scholarships that cover full tuition for a maximum of four years.

For the few merit scholarships available, the school will consider incoming international students. Winners of scholarships are chosen through a competitive process that takes into account the applicant’s SAT/ACT scores and high school GPA. The awards are renewable and can be anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000.

Scholarships and grants are available to undergraduate and graduate students from outside the United States, but they are in short supply at Michigan University. These aid packages are not meant to cover the full cost of tuition, fees, books, etc. at Michigan State University.

In each admissions cycle, a small number of admitted students, both domestic and international, are awarded merit scholarships. The awards range from $25,000 to $47,000 and can be used toward either partial or full tuition.

With over a million dollars in grants, scholarships, and loans are given out annually by the University of Oregon to undergraduate and graduate students from outside the United States. The ICSP Scholarship is one of their programmes that offer financial aid in the form of a tuition waiver for up to 15 credits per semester. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and the confidence to speak in front of a wide range of audiences.

At Wesleyan University, funding for international students is competitively limited and is distributed only to those who display both extraordinary skill and financial need. Eleven of the most promising high school seniors from Asia are selected each year to participate in the Freeman Asian Scholars Program, which provides them with full-tuition scholarships to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan over four years. In addition to the 11 Freeman Asian Scholars, the University expects to award scholarships to around 30 international students out of a total pool of around 600.

Scholarship grants, such as the President’s and Dean’s scholarships, are available to incoming international students at the University of the West who excel academically and show financial need. All fees associated with taking 7.5-15 undergraduate or 6-12 graduate-level units per semester will be covered by the scholarship.

Organizations offering financial aid to international students studying in the United States

Students from countries that are members of the World Bank can receive full funding to attend graduate school in a field related to international development thanks to the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program. Harvard, Johns Hopkins, the University of Chicago, Cornell, Columbia, and the other seven Ivy League institutions are all available to international students.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has given out International Fellowships since 1917. The goal of the program is to provide financial assistance to non-citizen women who are enrolled in a U.S. graduate or postdoctoral program full-time. Master’s/first professional degree: $20,000
Doctoral: $25,000
Postdoctoral: $50,000

Outstanding students from certain developing countries who have no other means of funding their education are eligible to apply for one of a small number of annual scholarships provided by the Aga Khan Foundation for postgraduate study. The United States is acceptable for research studies. Scholarships are given out annually through a competitive application process and are comprised of a grant and a loan equal to the amount applied for.
